New Delhi, May 7 -- Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav has alleged that several urban shelters run by the Delhi Urban Improvement Board (DUIB) are functioning in poor conditions despite the government's Summer Action Plan aimed at addressing heat wave challenges in the Capital.

Yadav said that shortly after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the Summer Action Plan, reports have emerged regarding inadequate basic facilities in several shelters meant for homeless and vulnerable people. He claimed that out of 197 shelters operated by DUIB with a capacity for over 17,000 people, several are facing issues related to hygiene and basic amenities.
