New Delhi, May 17 -- The Delhi Congress on Sunday criticised the BJP-led Delhi government over its decision to reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), alleging that the move benefits airlines and affluent travellers while offering no relief to common citizens struggling with high fuel prices.
Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav said the reduction in VAT on ATF from 25 per cent to 7 per cent comes at a time when petrol and diesel prices continue to impact household budgets, transport costs, and small businesses.
He alleged that the government had ignored demands for reducing VAT on petrol and diesel despite rising inflation.
