New Delhi, Jan. 28 -- Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Devender Yadav on Tuesday said the BJP government in Delhi has failed to keep its promise of 'Jaha Jhuggi Wahi Makaan' (house where the slum is), alleging it is now offering superficial sops to the remaining slum dwellers instead of integrating them into the city's development.

Yadav stated that after bulldozing slums, the Rekha Gupta-led government has announced Rs. 327 crore for public conveniences, toilets, and street paving in slums to "mollify" residents. He claimed this approach keeps slum dwellers "on the margin" rather than granting them the right to equality and proper rehabilitation.
