New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday said tuberculosis can be eliminated only through active public participation and called on MPs, MLAs and councillors to lead awareness efforts in their constituencies, as the Delhi government stepped up its TB elimination campaign through a sensitisation workshop for elected representatives.
Addressing the workshop organised by the National Health Mission and the Delhi State Health Mission at the Delhi Secretariat, Gupta said TB elimination had become a "people's movement" under the Centre's TB-Free India campaign and stressed that timely diagnosis, treatment and community participation were key to achieving the target.
