New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta today appealed to people to donate blood regularly while attending a blood donation camp organised by the Lakshmi Taru Foundation in Rohini, where organisers said they aimed to collect 3,100 units of blood.

According to an official statement issued by the Delhi Legislative Assembly, the camp, held at Japanese Park in Sector 10, Rohini, was organised under the theme "Ek Boond - Desh Ke Liye" as a tribute to the Indian Armed Forces. The statement said the drive was supported by volunteers from across the country and coordinated with nine hospitals for blood collection.

Addressing the gathering, Gupta said voluntary blood donation was a vital public service.
