New Delhi, Nov. 5 -- On the occasion of Gurupurab, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta today hailed the guiding principles outlined by Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism.

He praised the tenet, 'Naam Japna (focus on god), Kirat Karni (living honestly), and Vand Chakna (sharing with others)', also called the fundamental pillars of Sikhism, for continuing to illuminate the path of righteousness and humanity even today.

Gupta added that Guru Nanak Dev's teachings transcend time and religion, reminding us to live a life rooted in truth, humility, and service. The remarks were made by the Speaker during his visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib today.
