New Delhi, July 18 -- Upbeat about Delhi's footballing fortunes, the Union Territory's soccer governing body feels the national capital has now emerged as one of the foremost states in the sport.

In an exclusive chat with UNI, Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) Vice President Rizwan ul Haq said today that the game was growing at a good pace in the region, with the teams doing well across age category tourneys.

"I have been involved with Delhi football since 1978, first as a player, then as an official and an administrator. In all these years, I have not seen the numbers that I see now. The number of new players coming in, the number of tournaments taking place. We are growing at a good pace," he said
