Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 3 -- The Vizhinjam International Seaport, touted as a transformative gateway for India's economic growth, continues to suffer from critical delays and mismanagement, Venganur Gopakumar, General Secretary of the Vizhinjam Port People's Collective, said.
Despite a one-year trial run and six months since the Prime Minister inaugurated the port, essential infrastructure and commercial operations remain stalled, sparking frustration among local communities.
Gopakumar accused Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited (VISL), the entity managing the port, of functioning as a politically driven organisation lacking professional planning and execution.
