Ashok RainaDharamshala, July 21 -- Police in Himachal Pradesh's Dehra district launched a major crackdown against illegal mining during a special midnight operation, seizing one JCB machine and four tipper trucks engaged in unlawful extraction from the Beas riverbed.
The operation was carried out during the intervening night of July 20 and 21 by a special team constituted by the Superintendent of Police (SP), Dehra Police District.
Superintendent of Police Dehra district Sandeep Dhawal told UNI that the raid was conducted in the Chamukha area of the Beas River under the jurisdiction of Rakkar Police Station.
