Dharamshala, July 13 -- The Dehra Police District has constituted a Proclaimed Offender & Missing Person Unit (POMPU) to ensure the prompt arrest of proclaimed offenders and strengthen efforts to trace missing persons.
The specialised unit has been set up to execute court orders effectively, secure the lawful arrest of proclaimed offenders declared by courts, and trace missing persons for their reunification with families and rehabilitation, wherever required.
On Monday, the POMPU team achieved its first major success by arresting a proclaimed offender who had been absconding for a long period.
