Lucknow, April 13 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a three-day Khel Mahakumbh on Monday. The Khel Mahakumbh will run until April 15 at KD Singh Babu Stadium, featuring competitions in nine categories: athletics, volleyball, kabaddi, basketball, football, hockey, boxing, taekwondo and Kalaripayattu.
The participating children today demonstrated their martial skills through Kalaripayattu.
The Defence Minister congratulated the players and praised their performance. "It is the second edition of the competition. Last year, a Sansad Khel competition was launched at the historic stadium. Such a competition will continue in the years ahead," he said.
