Kolkata, Sept. 24 -- The deep depression that crossed the eastern coast near Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh brought heavy rain to Kolkata and its adjoining districts on Thursday, leaving several pockets of the city waterlogged.
From Sector V, Minto Park and AJC Bose Road to Park Circus, incessant rainfall inundated several parts of the city.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Kolkata recorded more than 74 mm of rainfall in 24 hours till 5.30 pm on Thursday. The IMD has also issued a very heavy rainfall warning for Gangetic West Bengal for September 24 and a heavy rainfall warning for September 25.
