Bhubaneswar, July 28 -- A deep depression over north coastal Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal triggered widespread heavy rainfall across several parts of Odisha in the past 24 hours , with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing red, orange and yellow warnings for multiple districts.
According to the IMD, the deep depression moved west-northwestwards at a speed of 12 kmph and, on Tuesday morning, was centred over north interior Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal. It was located about 10 km southeast of Baripada, 40 km north-northwest of Balasore, and 140 km east-northeast of Keonjhargarh.
