Lucknow, May 15 -- Debutant Spencer Johnson was handed his first appearance for Chennai Super Kings after Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium here on Friday.
CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad confirmed two changes, with Johnson making his debut and Gurjapneet Singh replacing Akeal Hosein in the playing XI.
"It is a privilege to wear the yellow jersey," Gaikwad said, adding that the frequent team changes had also created opportunities for younger players to grow.
Gaikwad said there was some moisture in the pitch early on, but believed a total in the range of 170-180 could prove competitive.
