Hyderabad, Nov. 3 -- In a ghastly road accident, 18 people including the drivers of both vehicles were killed and 15 others injured, some of them critically, when a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TgSRTC) bus collided with a gravel-laden tipper on the Hyderabad-Bijapur National Highway near Mirzaguda in Chevella mandal of Rangareddy district on Monday morning.
According to police, the bus carrying about 70 passengers was on its way to Hyderabad from Tandur when the mishap occurred.
Rescue teams retrieved the passengers from the mangled bus with the help of three proclains. Six front-row seats were completely crushed when gravel from the tipper fell onto the bus. Officials fear the death toll may rise further.
