Dharamshala, June 3 -- Deputy Commissioner Kangra and District Election Officer (Panchayati Raj), Hemraj Bairwa, has authorised the concerned Sub-Divisional Officers (Civil) to administer the oath to newly elected Panchayat Samiti members and conduct the elections for the posts of President and Vice-President in various Panchayat Samitis of Kangra district under the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Election) Rules, 1994.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the respective SDMs will convene meetings of the newly elected Panchayat Samiti members within their jurisdictions, during which the members will be administered the oath of office under Section 127 of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.
