Nagpur, June 5 -- : In a daring daylight robbery near Ambazari Lake in Nagpur, three unidentified assailants allegedly attacked a forex exchange manager by throwing chilli powder in his eyes and decamped with cash worth Rs 7.16 lakh, police said on Friday.

The victim, identified as Khilesh Sahu, a manager with a forex exchange firm in Raipur, was reportedly lured to Nagpur under the pretext of a foreign currency exchange deal.

According to police, Sahu had received a WhatsApp call from an unidentified person seeking to exchange US dollars for Indian currency.

Believing the transaction to be genuine, he arrived in Nagpur carrying Rs 7.16 lakh in cash.
