Hyderabad, June 24 -- Former Haryana Governor and senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday urged Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to intervene in a range of issues concerning Scheduled Tribes in the state, citing delays in implementing constitutional safeguards and welfare measures.

In a letter addressed to the Governor, Dattatreya sought action on pending forest rights claims, protection of tribal lands, and implementation of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA), filling of reserved vacancies and strengthening healthcare and infrastructure in tribal regions.
