New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- India's fast-growing data centre industry is poised to emerge as a significant catalyst for the country's residential real estate market, with planned digital infrastructure investments expected to create demand for nearly 195 million square feet (msf) of housing by 2030, according to a report by proptech platform Square Yards.
The report estimates that the country's proposed 9,030 MW data centre pipeline could support the creation of around 4.33 lakh jobs across a wide range of sectors, including construction, utilities, logistics, maintenance, security and other allied services.
The resulting employment is expected to drive housing demand beyond established IT hubs and into new urban clusters.
