London, Oct. 15 -- Oscar award winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis has ended his seven-year absence from cinema with the release of "Anemone", a poignant new film co-written and directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis.
The 68-year-old was last seen on film in 2017's "Phantom Thread," after which his agent released a statement saying he "will no longer be working as an actor".
Returning to the big screens, he dismissed the notions of retirement, stating, "And just to put the record straight, I never used the word retirement.
