Kalaburagi, June 9 -- The Karnataka unit of the Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) has announced a statewide agitation on June 16 demanding a Cabinet berth for senior Congress leader HC Mahadevappa in the proposed expansion of the Karnataka Ministry.
Addressing a press conference here, DSS State Convener DG Sagar said Mahadevappa had consistently worked for the welfare of Dalits, backward classes and minorities and deserved representation in the State Cabinet.
He said the former Minister had played a significant role in promoting social justice, educational advancement and constitutional values, besides contributing to the strengthening of Dalit movements across Karnataka.
