Bhubaneswar, Aug. 22 -- A Special Vigilance Court in Bhubaneswar on Saturday sentenced former Principal of the Government Driving Training School, Bhubaneswar, Pravakar Behera, to three years of rigorous imprisonment in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Behera, who had been chargesheeted by the Odisha Vigilance for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Behera, who has since retired, was convicted by Special Judge, Special Court, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, Asim Kumar Dalabehera, under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
