Panchkula, Aug. 20 -- Swirling cyclonic systems over north Haryana and the Punjab region, along with the monsoon trough sweeping through Firozpur and Karnal, are fuelling lively monsoon conditions across northwest India. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the heaviest downpours will drench the western Himalayan region, Uttar Pradesh, and central India.
According to the All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre at 8.21 am on August 20, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh during August 20-22 and Uttarakhand during August 20-25.
