Cyclone Murasu likely to reach AP coast as severe storm with high wind speeds

Vijayawada, Nov. 2 -- Cyclone Murasu centred around 80 km from Nellore and Kavali on Monday evening, is very likely to intensify into a severe storm with high wind speeds as it crosses the coast. Educational institutions declared a holiday on Tuesday and all beaches have been closed.

IMD bulletin said cyclonic Storm "Murasu" over West Central Bay of Bengal is very likely to move northwestwards and cross south Andhra Pradesh coast as a Severe Cyclonic Storm with wind speed of 100 to 110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph between Nellore and Narsapur, to the south of Ongole during midnight (2330 Hrs IST) of Monday to early hours (0400 Hrs IST) of November 3.
