New Delhi, July 25 -- Indian boxer Sachin Siwach advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the men's 60kg event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 after defeating Canada's Keoma Al-Ahmadieh at the Scottish Event Campus on Saturday.

The 26-year-old won the opening-round contest by a 4-1 split decision and will now face England's Will Hewitt in the pre-quarterfinals on Monday.

Sachin started the bout well, landing the cleaner punches in a closely fought opening round to take a narrow lead.

In the second round, the Canadian increased the pressure, but Sachin stayed calm and used effective counter-attacks to win the round on all five judges' scorecards.
