New Delhi, Feb. 24 -- : Three separate cases involving hydroponic weed, gold smuggling and illegal export of medicines were registered by the Customs Department at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, officials said on Tuesday.
In the first case, a senior customs official said that three persons were apprehended at the airport.
"They arrived at Mumbai Airport from Bangkok. During the checking of their luggage, we recovered a total of 23.593 kg of suspected contraband under the NDPS Act (hydroponic weed), worth Rs 23.593 crore in the illicit market. The accused were arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act," the official said.
