Kendrapara, June 2 -- A criminal case has been registered against suspended Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Sandhyarani Jena of Talachua Marine Police Station on charges of alleged custodial torture and police excess, further deepening her troubles.
Talachua Marine Police registered a case against the suspended officer under Sections 296, 64, 115, 351 and 308 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The case was initiated on the basis of a complaint lodged by Annapurna Mandal (58) of Giriapahi village under Baghamari Panchayat before the Pattamundai SDPO on May 26.
