Nagpur, Jan. 25 -- A Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) and three police personnel attached to Jaripatka Police Station in Nagpur have been suspended following the custodial death of a 19-year-old boy accused in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The accused was found dead inside the police station lock-up during the early hours on Wednesday.
Preliminary information suggests that he allegedly died by suicide while in police custody.
The incident came to light during routine checks, after which senior officers were informed.
The deceased, a native of Uttar Pradesh, had been arrested in connection with a POCSO case and was brought to Nagpur for investigation.
