Hyderabad, Oct. 21 -- Dr H V S Satyanarayana, Chief Scientist at the CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad, has been elected a Fellow of the Telangana Academy of Sciences (FTAS) for the year 2024 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to geophysical instrumentation and seismology.

With over three decades of research experience, Dr Satyanarayana holds engineering degrees from Nagarjuna University and JNTU Hyderabad, and a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay. He has played a pivotal role in developing advanced geophysical instruments and establishing seismic networks across India for earthquake monitoring and hazard assessment.
