Shimla, Sept. 13 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena's candidature for the post of Chairman, Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC), has landed in controversy after a fresh complaint challenged the validity of his Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
Atul Sharma, a resident of Shimla, has written to the state government seeking a review of the clearance issued to Saxena, citing a violation of the Office Memorandum dated October 9, 2024, issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
The memorandum bars officials facing criminal cases from being considered for sensitive appointments or post-retirement reemployment.
