Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 29 -- Kanakakkunnu Palace came alive with Kerala's traditional performing arts as large crowds, including foreign visitors, gathered to watch renowned artist Margi Usha's Nangyarkoothu performance as part of the Onam Week celebrations organised by the Tourism Department.

The colonial-era palace witnessed captivating performances of Koodiyattam, Kathakali, Nangyarkoothu, Chakyarkoothu and the Aksharashloka Sadas, adding colour and cultural vibrancy to the weeklong festivities that began on Sunday.

The traditional art forms are being presented at the palace at 4 pm every day, attracting a discerning audience. On Friday, it was Margi Usha who mesmerised the packed house with her presentation of Vaamanaavathaaram.
