Jamui, Jan. 10 -- Some armed criminals looted Rs 50 lakh from a gold and silver trader near Ajan Bridge on Station Road under the Malepur police station in Jamui district.
Police said here today that six criminals riding on two motorcycles intercepted the businessman Vikram Kumar Soni, a resident of Old Market area when he reached near Ajan Bridge while on way to Kolkata late last night. The criminals snatched around Rs 50 lakh from the trader. During the robbery, they assaulted him and injured him seriously. Later, the criminals field from the spot.
The injured businessman was admitted to the Sadar Hospital for treatment.
