Firozabad, Jan. 24 -- In a joint operation, Tundla Police of Firozabad district and Delhi Police arrested a wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 after a late-night police encounter on Friday.
The accused had earlier attacked a Delhi Police officer and fled after looting the officer's service pistol, police disclosed on Saturday.
SP City Ravi Shankar Prasad informed that on Friday evening, Safdarjung Police Station of South West Delhi alerted Tundla Police that a notorious criminal, Avinash alias Jaanu, had attacked a Delhi Police team on Thursday, assaulted an officer, and escaped with the officer's pistol. Based on intelligence inputs, the accused was believed to be present in the Tundla area.
