Imphal, Aug. 31 -- Manipur Police and Security Forces conducted a series of operations across the state yesterday, resulting in the arrest of several insurgents, seizure of illegal items, and recovery of arms and ammunition, the police officials today said.
Police detained one Md. Sahid of Sora Karanchi Mayai Leikai, Irengband, Kakching district, at Tengnoupal Naka check post under Tengnoupal police station. From his possession, 40 boxes of illegal cigarettes were recovered.
An active cadre of an outfit was nabbed at Imphal East district, was arrested from Yumnam Patlou Chingjel under Sagolmang police station.
Security forces arrested four militants near BP-86 in Tengnoupal district.
