Greater Noida, Feb. 27 -- Indian cricketer Rinku Singh's father, Khanchand Singh (60), passed away at a private hospital here on Friday early morning, family sources said.
He had liver cancer and passed away around 4:36 am, sources added.
Rinku was in Chennai playing as a substitute in the T20 World Cup against Zimbabwe on Thursday night. He is rushing to Aligarh, where the last rites would be performed, sources said.
Rinku's father health deteriorated a few days ago, after which he was brought from Aligarh to a private hospital in Greater Noida. He was put on ventilator support there, but his health deteriorated.
