Pune, June 26 -- Celebrations of birthdays, weddings, festivals, and other family occasions should be tempered with social responsibility, said Sandeep Khardekar, President of the Creative Foundation here, while marking his grandson Kartik Kalyani Pratik's third birthday with a charitable initiative on Friday.
Instead of a conventional celebration, the family donated two cupboards, floor mats, and snacks to "Ab Normal," a school and rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities in Kothrud area.
Khardekar emphasized that while hosting relatives and friends is important, setting aside a portion of the celebration budget to support underprivileged sections of society brings greater satisfaction and serves a noble purpose.
