Mumbai, April 15 -- A major construction mishap disrupted Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, in the early hours of Wednesday, when a heavy-duty crane collapsed during ongoing Metro Line 2B work, prompting traffic diversions and emergency clearance operations.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 am near the Asian Heart Hospital junction while overnight work was being carried out by contractor J. Kumar Infraprojects Limited.
Officials said a 400-tonne mobile crane, engaged in lifting a precast beam, suddenly toppled, causing the massive structure to fall onto the road.
