Washim, June 30 -- The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration's intensified drive against food adulteration and illegal food businesses, launched under the leadership of Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, has begun showing significant results in Washim district.
The strict enforcement campaign has prompted hotel owners, sweet shop operators, milk vendors, and other food business operators to come forward for mandatory registration and licensing.
According to official figures, the district received 1,031 new applications for food business registration over the past month, reflecting a sharp rise in compliance. At present, 864 food business operators in the district hold valid registrations or licences.
