Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 6 -- The CPI(M) has decided to cooperate with the police investigation into the alleged assault on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials after seeking legal advice, with several senior party leaders receiving notices to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

According to reports, the party leadership has decided to face the investigation through legal channels instead of avoiding questioning.

Senior advocates are expected to brief the leaders on the legal aspects of the case before they appear before investigators. The decision is also being viewed as an attempt to counter criticism that the party was unwilling to cooperate with the probe.
