Shimla, April 4 -- The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) on Saturday demanded the immediate removal of acting Chief Secretary, Sanjay Gupta and sought registration of an FIR against him in connection with the alleged Chester Hill land case in Solan.
Addressing the issue Himachal CPM state secretary, Sanjay Chauhan alleged that the senior officer had misused his position and violated several state laws to extend undue benefit to the owners of the Chester Hill project.
He also called for the constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged illegal land purchases by land and real estate mafias in the state and demanded action against officials found involved in such transactions.
