Hyderabad, Sept. 7 -- CPI National Secretary Dr K Narayana on Sunday hit out at the BJP government at the Centre, accusing it of reducing GST slabs after nine years only due to fear of losing the Bihar elections and the growing anti-BJP sentiment in the country.

Addressing a press conference at Makhdoom Bhavan along with CPI Telangana Secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao and Assistant Secretary E.T. Narasimha, Narayana alleged that GST had burdened people for years while the Centre "robbed" them of their money. He demanded reforms in the GST Council.
