New Delhi, July 19 -- The Communist Party of India on Sunday urged the Centre to ensure that the Monsoon Session of Parliament is devoted to substantive discussions on issues affecting the lives of people, pressing for accountability from the government on a wide range of matters including examination paper leaks, price rise, women's reservation, electoral roll revision, political defections and the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

The demand was made by CPI Rajya Sabha leader P Sandosh Kumar at the all-party meeting convened by the government ahead of the Monsoon Session, which begins on July 20 and is scheduled to continue until August 13.
