Darbhanga, Aug. 16 -- The CPI(ML) on Sunday threatened to launch a decisive struggle to secure land for the landless and homestead rights (Basgit Parcha) for poor families living on government land.
Addressing a Mithila zone meeting of the CPI(ML) at the party's district office in Laheriasarai, Mithilanchal in-charge Dhirendra Jha criticised the government's proposal to provide only 1.5 decimals of land to the poor, saying it had earlier promised five decimals.
He said the issue of land and housing rights had emerged as a major concern following student-youth movements and the statewide hunger strike and satyagraha over the problems of Dalits and the poor.
