Agartala, Oct. 30 -- The opposition CPI-M has voiced protest to Tripura State Electricity Corporation's (TSECL) proposal to raise power tariffs for both domestic and commercial users, labeling the hike as unfair and a heavy burden on consumers.
The party leaders criticized TSECL for its inefficiency and insisted on improved billing practices rather than increased rates. After attending a public hearing of Tripura Electricity Regulatory Commission (TERC), CPI-M leader and state committee member Ratan Das told the media that the proposed hikes were detrimental to the public, indicating that they unfairly target those already struggling financially.
