Shimla, May 24 -- Amid speculation over the proposed regular appointment of senior IAS officer Sanjay Gupta as Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh, CPI-M on Sunday strongly objected to it.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, CPI-M Himachal Pradesh Secretary Sanjay Chauhan has alleged that the decision raises serious questions over administrative transparency and institutional integrity.
He further alleged that the proposed appointment was inappropriate at a time when serious allegations of corruption and misconduct against the officer were under judicial scrutiny.
