Hyderabad, Aug. 26 -- The CPI(M) Telangana State Committee today accused the BJP-led Central Government of negligence in addressing the urea shortage in the state and condemned what it termed as "false propaganda" by BJP leaders.

The party alleged that despite farmers staging protests for over a month, BJP leaders have been making excuses and claiming that an "artificial shortage" was created. "The reality is that the Centre has failed to supply Telangana's requirements," the CPI(M) said in a statement.

According to the party, the state required 9.8 lakh tonnes of urea this season, but the Centre reduced the quota by 1.5 lakh tonnes and has failed to deliver even the sanctioned supply on time, resulting in severe scarcity. Farmers, it sai...
