Hyderabad, Oct. 23 -- The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Telangana State Committee has demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy order an immediate investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities in the state's Excise Department.
In a statement here on Thursday, the party demanded an explanation for the voluntary retirement (VRS) of Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Excise Department, despite having nearly ten years of service remaining. It is alleged that his decision might have been influenced by pressure from ministers and powerful political figures.
