Shimla, June 17 -- The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Wednesday accused both the Centre and the state government of pursuing policies that have deepened the economic crisis in the hill state and adversely affected farmers, workers, and common citizens.

The two-day meeting of the CPI(M) state committee concluded in Shimla under the chairmanship of state secretariat member Omkar Shad.

Party central secretariat member Vikram Singh and state secretary Sanjay Chauhan attended the meeting.

Presenting the political and organisational report, Chauhan highlighted what the party termed growing economic distress in the state.
