Hyderabad, May 28 -- Communist Party of India (CPI) national leader K Narayana criticised the growing trend of arbitrary movie ticket price hikes and benefit shows, stating that the film industry should not burden common people in the name of big-budget productions and entertainment.

Referring to recent television reports about several film personalities meeting at Megastar Chiranjeevi's residence to discuss issues related to the film industry, Narayana in a statement on Thursday, said one of the reported topics was the demand for a share in the additional revenue generated through increased ticket prices during movie releases.
