Thiruvananthapuram, May 12 -- Kerala CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam has demanded the immediate removal of union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, launching a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government and alleging widespread "mafia influence" and commercialisation of India's education sector.

Viswam alleged that "education at all levels has been handed over to mafia networks" under the present regime and claimed that the government was systematically enabling irregularities and corruption in key national institutions.
